The new Deputy Head of Academic Quality role, offers an exciting leadership opportunity in the Academic Quality team at Bournemouth University, working closely with the Head of Academic Quality to help shape the future development of the team. This integrated team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality support to Faculties and academic partners to ensure the effective implementation of the University’s quality assurance and enhancement framework. The Deputy Head of Academic Quality is an interesting and varied role, leading on all areas of quality assurance and partnerships, providing leadership for the team, and driving institutional-level projects. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Head of Academic Quality in leading the department and will have a key role as a member of the Academic Services’ management team which contributes to the strategic development of the service.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional and have extensive knowledge and direct experience of the management and implementation of effective quality assurance administration within Higher Education provision.
You will take a leading role in developing, planning and implementing the University’s quality assurance and enhancement framework. This includes assuming responsibility the effective delivery of quality assurance, academic regulations, policies and procedures in line with the University’s strategic objectives to support a high-quality academic student experience and to ensure compliance with relevant external regulatory requirements.
You will be experienced in leading institutional-level projects and implementing change that impacts across the organisation. You will have experience of managing degree apprenticeships in relation to quality assurance, monitoring, oversight and compliance. You will have direct experience of overseeing academic partnerships at an institutional level, and monitoring risk and compliance in relation to collaborative provision. You will have management experience within a complex organisation, providing teams with clear objectives and expectations to achieve results.
