About the role

Bournemouth University is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters the academic and personal success of our students.

We're looking for a Sexual Assault and Harassment Advisor or equivalent worker (SVLO, ISVA, IDVA) who is empathetic, knowledgeable, and approachable, with expertise in supporting survivors of sexual assault, harassment, or abuse.
This new role within Student Services will provide confidential advice and guidance for any students who have experienced sexual assault or domestic abuse. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, a flexible approach, and a demonstrable understanding of the impact of sexual assault and abusive relationships across our diverse student body.

Working closely with colleagues across the university, you will play a key role in activities relating to prevention, culture change, and our institutional response to sexual violence. Supporting BU's responsibilities to the Office for Students in preventing and addressing harassment and sexual misconduct is a crucial part of the role.

We are committed to providing a safe environment for all students and staff. This position is subject to a satisfactory DBS Disclosure and further information on BU’s safeguarding policies can be found online.

The interview dates for this is Thursday 17th July 2025. Successful shortlisted candidates will be contacted with more information nearer the time.
Please contact Jacquie O'Brien, Achieve@BU Manager via [email protected] if you would like an informal chat about this vacancy.
