We are looking for a Senior Application Packaging Engineer to join our established End User Computing team. The team is responsible for the packaging and delivery of a broad range of software used to prepare our graduates for careers in industries as diverse as Health Care, Games Design, Sport Science, Computer Animation, Archaeology, and Engineering.
Additionally, the End User Computing team provides 3rd-line support to end users, and assistance to our 1st and 2nd line support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Package and customise software applications for deployment in an education environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure applications meet BU standards.
- Test and troubleshoot packaged applications to ensure performance and functionality on the Windows desktop.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to application packaging processes.
- Provide support and technical expertise to resolve packaging and deployment-related issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience of working with packaging and deployment tools such as AppsAnywhere / Cloudpaging, MSI, MECM / SCCM, App-V, Citrix, or equivalent application delivery technologies.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and deployment methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VBS, batch).
