About the role

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Maths Tutor to contribute to a project supporting students and improving their continuation rates, with a focus on those entering university with non-traditional qualifications (i.e. qualifications other than A-Levels).

The person will work within the central Academic Skills Hub, with undergraduate students from across the university, to enhance their maths skills.  The post also contributes to the coordination, collection and analysis of evaluation data to inform the project direction and outcomes.

Ideally, the candidate will have a postgraduate qualification and/or teaching qualification in mathematics or a related subject. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute strongly to the project by interacting with staff and students and initiating new ideas.  Excellent written, numeric and oral communication skills are required.  You will need to be self-motivated and a team player.

This position is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2025, with the potential to be extended.

A detailed job description, person specification and access to the online application process are available from our website.

For an informal discussion please contact Academic Skills Hub Manager, Trevor Herndon ([email protected]).
