As a Lecturer in Social Science you will deliver high academic standards through a fusion of excellent education, informed by a credible and developing research profile and through professional engagement.
You will help raise the national and international profile of the Faculty and our social science provision in the areas of sociology and social anthropology, contribute to the growth of the academic community and develop personal areas of scholarship and research expertise.
You will facilitate teaching and learning across the suite of programmes that include criminology, sociology and social anthropology. Experience of teaching quantitative research methods would be an advantage. You will have the opportunities to link with academic colleagues across the Faculty and University in taking forward the research and education agenda.
You will be qualified to Doctoral level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment. You will be research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
