About the role

Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer (Academic) in Medical Imaging on a 1.0 FTE basis. Suitable candidates wishing to work on a lesser FTE basis (for example, while maintaining clinical activity or due to other commitments) and/or job shares will be considered. We expect the ideal candidate to:

  1.  Have an understanding and experience of one of the following: radiography, ultrasound, CT and/or MRI.
  2. Hold registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)(or the equivalent) or willingness to obtain this within an agreed period.
  3. Have a good understanding of research and innovative educational models in Radiography education.
  4. Be involved in the design, development and delivery of teaching and learning in Radiography/medical imaging and related courses across the University.
  5. Contribute to the operational activities of the IMIV, including supporting the scanning and related activities.
  6. Have the opportunity to develop your own research and/or service improvement interests in a friendly and supportive environment.

About the department

The Institute of Medical Imaging and Visualisation (IMIV) is a CQC-registered clinical imaging facility within the School of Allied Health & Exercise Science at the Faculty of Health, Environment & Medical Sciences. The faculty has recently invested in several exciting new positions to better align our teaching and research portfolio with BU’s 2035 strategic investment in the Medical Sciences. The IMIV imaging infrastructure includes an MRI scanner and additional imaging equipment such as ultrasound scanners, all based at Bournemouth University for education and research purposes.
