About the role

The School of Psychology at Bournemouth University is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work 0.2FTE (exact days are flexible) on a project investigating body perception in young women. The primary role of the Research Assistant will be to recruit and coordinate participants to take part in studies on Talbot Campus, and then to meet them and administer the study to the recruited participants. Depending on your expertise, you may also play a role in developing the studies (probably in PsychoPy), analysing data (using JASP and/or R) and writing up results for publication. The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of recruiting participants and running psychology experiments (or similar) in person.
  • Have good research skills, likely obtained via completion of a degree in psychology or a related discipline
  • Be outgoing, friendly and sensitive to any participant concerns
  • Be well organised, reliable and punctual
  • Be able to work independently, but to ask for help when needed
  • Experience of using PsychoPy, JASP and R would be an advantage but is not essential

This post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31st August 2027.

This post is available part-time for 0.2 FTE (exact days flexible).

Internal applicants may be considered for a secondment but this would need to be discussed with their line managers prior to application.
