We are looking for a Research assistant to join a new research project, "From Evidence to Action: Developing Cross-Sector Partnerships to Safeguard Neurodivergent Young People in Gamified Digital Environments”, funded through the UKRI Gambling Harms Research and Innovation Partnerships scheme and led by Constantina Panourgia (PI) and Elvira Bolat (Co-PI), with Emily Arden-Close and Marina Kilintari as Co-Investigators
This project, which involves a partnership with Ygam and Work’n'Diversity, will establish a sustainable partnership bringing together neurodivergent children and young people (CYP), their families, educators, clinicians, researchers, charities, and policymakers. It will explore how digital environments—particularly where gaming and gambling intersect—shape vulnerability and resilience, and how effectively current support systems respond. By placing lived experience at its core, it will identify key evidence gaps, define shared priorities, and establish consensus on ethical principles for research and engagement with vulnerable groups in this complex and sensitive field. These outcomes will lay the foundations for future co-designed interventions.
The postholder will support key stages of the research project, including conducting a scoping review of grey literature, assisting with the planning and facilitation of focus groups, supporting qualitative data analysis, and contributing to the organisation of a project symposium.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of conducting scoping reviews of grey literature and supporting qualitative research activities, including focus groups and data analysis. Experience or familiarity with gambling research is essential. Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills are required, alongside the ability to manage tasks effectively and work collaboratively within a research team.
This post is available on a fixed-term basis for 7 months for a total of 15 hours per week.
